It was an absolute honour and privilege to have been approached to renovate the iconic fashion store Toscani, situated at the ‘Paris end’ of Hastings Street Noosa. Curated by mother daughter team Maxine McMaster & Erin Burness. Celebrating the 40th year in business made it all the more special to create a space that was true to the brand and the brands they represent.

We couldn’t speak highly enough of Sophia and the team at Renegade. Having worked on personal residential projects and commercial retail renovations, Sophia and her team are second to none. The team combine creativity and design with functionality and clever use of space.
As importers of high-end women’s fashion, the brief was to create a unique destination store reflecting the luxury brands inside whist keeping the relaxed sophistication of Noosa in mind. We started with a 30-year-old stark white interior with an outdated tile floor and wanted to inject warmth and feature lighting to highlight the designs.
We really enjoyed being involved in the design of both projects, brainstorming ideas and exploring Renegade’s vast library of fabric and finishes. The retail space renovation was particularly challenging for the team with every sqm. of space on ground level and above taken into consideration and utilized for display and storage. From the amount of shoe boxes, pairs of sunglasses, number of hangers, size of the carry bags and tissue paper, nothing was a problem for the team. Renegade’s design aesthetic is unique to them. We loved how they challenged what we originally had in mind for the store and came up with something original. Some of our favourite design elements in the store are the travertine mini flute tiles, the sustainable cork flooring, the powder coated brass trims, the walnut cabinetry, cedar cladded ceiling, handmade wall sculptures and Australian made Marz Designs pendant lights.
From a project management point of view, we were truly amazed at the level of planning particularly when it came to the store renovation. Renegade were very transparent about the costs throughout the planning and any variations were explained clearly to avoid any surprises. We were on a tight 4-week timeframe and the project was managed down to the hour perfectly with the planned reopening date achieved. Renegade uses the highest level of trades who they have clearly built strong relationships over many years of working together.
Having engaged Renegade on residential and commercial projects, they are equally talented at both and we recommend their services without hesitation. We value the friendship we’ve created with Sophia and the Renegade team and look forward to working together again in the future.
